Colocasia, belonging to the same family as Alocasia, shares many similarities with the Alocasia genus. However, it usually has larger leaves with a downward tilt.

The Colocasia Mojito is a wild-looking elephant ear. It is variegated with black and green, with its black colouring spreading across the green leaf in a manner reminiscent of ink spreading across a damp page. Kept well, it grows to four feet.
Originally discovered in Florida, the Colocasia Mojito enjoys a tropical climate. It requires a rich soil which can be bought or cultivated with plant food and fertiliser. Soil should be kept moist, as the Colocasia Mojito does not grow well in dry conditions. People in humid or moderately rainy climates may see impressive growth, but owners in drier climates will need to check water regularly. The Colocasia Mojito likes a great deal of sunlight, and as such it should be kept outdoors or – for advanced plant-owners in darker areas – under UV lamps.
